Welcome to Wayside

Wayside Presbyterian Church has been a home for Christian worship for over 85 years. We are located along the shores of Lake Erie at 5017 Lakeshore Road in Hamburg, NY. Rev. Cathy Rieley-Goddard leads the congregation in numerous activities supporting God's call to service.

Wayside Presbyterian Church was founded in 1928 as the Wayside Chapel. In 1938, the small church became affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.

Wayside Activities

Mission & Outreach

Wayside most recently has reached out to the community in refugee settlement support, food pantry support and volunteering with donations and dinner kitchen support at Friends of the Night.

Music & Worship

Wayside has a very special worship and music program. Musicians are welcome to join the band, choir and the bell choir. Throughout the year special music programs are promoted for the arts.

Fundraisers

The Wayside congregation has been conducting fundraisers to benefit charitable groups and others over the years.

Hosting of Wellness Groups

The Wayside buildings and grounds are ideal for meetings and functions. Many local groups make use of the facilities to support wellness and improved quality of life activities.

Pastor Cathy Rieley-Goddard preaches teamwork

Preaching from Matthew 14, Pastor Cathy emphasizes how important it is for us all to work together for the common good in our personal lives, family, church, school, work, and at play. Almost everywhere in our lives, we are in relationships and we need to think tolerance and respect. Like the disciples on a turbulent sea, we need to have faith and trust in God. Cathy's background in ministry to a diverse community brings an important leadership element to the mission work of Wayside. Her emphasis on trusting in Jesus and moving ahead in faith are good words to follow as we reach out to others in need.

Wayside Presbyterian continues in Christ's Mission today

For over 90 years, Wayside has been a beacon of Christian life on the lakeshore in Hamburg. Today Pastor Cathy Rieley-Goddard whom was installed in 2017, leads a vibrant congregation that comes together in fellowship to worship God and to give back to the community and those in need.

Discipleship is an important component in developing the membership base and meeting the needs of those seeking a stronger connection with God. Wayside provides a number of spiritual growth opportunities in small groups and one and one.

Adult Bible Studies are scheduled around the consensus of those attending. Many interesting topics and series are selected based on the interests of the participants. Call the Wayside Office for more information.
